s martin: There is a thread on SI that was discussing that idea.
The people there do not want to understand that eventualy the SEC is going to take people to task for the things they say on chat boards.
The thread is called SI does it Manipulate Stocks.
I believe that in my posts, I tried to convey that idea, but I was bashed by the bashers, funny, huh?
You see, IMO, the only way that people can Manip stocks via SI is to post fraudulent info,
(or close to it).
Either long or short.
You should look at the thread, you might be able to make a contribution.
I think tonto should also.
For that matter, I think everyone on SI should look at it, the idea affects everyone.
If a person decides to post, don't let the people that want to shout you down stop you.

My contention was simple.
Some boards are being used for that purpose.
Freedom of Speech doesn't give a person the right to post fraudulent things.
The SEC is going to step in.
I will forward posts that I feel are fraudulent.

I think that the wall street article on tonto, gives some support to my ideas.

As a last idea, at least remember the people who contend that these boards are open game to say anything.
It will give you an insight into how they post.
You can weigh the validity of their posts with that in mind.

In addition some people think that being in a foreign country will allow them to do anything they want.
Maybe its true, but if a warrant is ever sworn out on them, for whatever reason, they won't be able to visit the States.
Warrants never die, as far as I know.

Please anybody, don't answer me on this board, this is not the board for that, I brought it up here because I know that a lot of people read RMIL, it's kind of like the supermarket tabloids, no one wants to admit it.
I think that idea behind the creation of that thread is very important, which makes that thread important, also.

"You seem to think tonto and/or others are under some duty to inform you of everything..."

Now that tonto has been quoted in a prestigious national publication as saying that he spends 10 hours a day at the keyboard because it is HIS JOB and that, if he sees something he feels is wrong, he can't just walk away, and that he is currently embroiled in a nasty on-line exchange (you call this nasty?), yes I do feel that he is under some duty to reveal all he knows. After all, he's being portrayed as some sort of hero, not someone who plays cat and mouse with investors.

I read it in the WSJ. It has to be accurate, doesn't it? BTW, does anybody know when Roland got to be president of the company?
