DELL buying stock back,

DoggieDude,

Jim Patterson has been told at least a dozen times that DELL is buying back stock, but that they use long term call instruments to buy it at a discount. We even cite the pertinent paragraphs from the annual statement. However, he purports not to understand. Apparently his comprehension index compares unfavorably with the median January temperature in Bemidji. In either case it is an extremely bullish scenario for the company's management.

Yes, you are correct. a) If DELL continues to buy call options to buy back stock, management obviously foresees a growth future; b) if DELL continues to buy back stock at or near all time high prices, the same conclusion is valid.

Jim P. is also the poster who decries DELL's issuance of debt instruments for their building program, and once again purports not to understand that DELL does indeed have a monstrous building program underway. He claims that the money is being used to finance the stock buy-back program.

Jim P. impugns the integrity of DELL's management, virtually asserting that they artificially manipulate the stock price for nefarious reasons. Don't waste your breath and time on that BS artist. IMO his intention is not to learn but to try to damage the company in any way possible.

DELLish, 3
