FWIW -- Quote from Salomon Smith Barney, July 30, 1998:

"We continue to be bullish on the oil service industry, and we expect oil service stocks to outperform again in 1998. We believe that the same fundamentals that propelled oil service stocks higher during 1995-97 remain solidly intact."

>>How about giving us a break?<<

It appears as if the market is doing that for me...as in back breaking.

Look pal, the only agenda I have is my benevolent desire to help my fellow SD posters avoid the grief I suffered with the same attitude many of you folks have here...hold long and buy to average down. My posts back in March were similar in tone as that Slider dudes, but without the excessive verbage. He is taking the same foolish path I once did. The investment community has been pounding into our heads to ride the storms and buy for the long term. It has worked for the past 10 years or so. It isn't going to work forever. Forever appears to have ended the past 3 weeks.

I have VRC if you are interested and plan on holding since it appears to have bottomed. Notice I said "appears". I bought it as a value play at $17 and bought more this morning at $15. The difference with me is that if it breaks below it's current support at $14.50, I'm out of there. I love to save my capital.

Don't have socks. I don't wear any.
