<<What a great, succinct (though technical) description of this particular Mac advantage! >>

Thank you.

I could have just said Plug N Play, however, that does not really describe it as an advantage.

Windows tries to push their version of PNP as gospel, but it is a bastardization of the term. In their context PNP simply allows you to easily play games and add a few devices.

In the Mac context, it's true functionality of a wide variety of products/devices that gets work done quickly. And that is true Power and Efficiency.

Forget the clock speed race. Not only is it irrelevant when you put a 300Mhz PPC vs. a 400 Mhz Pentium II, but platform-wise your getting more done faster. Time is money and more time spent getting the PC to work is money down the productivity drain and money down the tech support drain that corporations have not yet begun to realize.

Perhaps when we reach another recession and the bean counters start to tally up chargeable minutes, there will be a new rennaisance for efficiency rather than conformity.
