We're at 8588 on the Dow. Well below Bob's buy point.

OK Kirk. If you or anyone else is interested in Point & Figure charting, SI has an excellent thread on it.

Subject 5671

It is a very simple charting method that gives you an accurate picture of supply and demand in the market. There is only one difficult concept to master and that is the concept that Point & Figure does not predict what is going to happen in the market in the future but instead tells you what is actually happening in the market now.

I learn a lot from listening to Bob Brinker and he has a terrific track record. He has demonstrated a keen sense for knowing when the conditions are ripe for a strong up move. He senses the dryness in the forest and knows when the conditions are ripe for a scorcher.
His indicators called for combustion in November of 1994, July 1996, April of 1997 and January of 1998. He could not have been more correct.

Point & Figure charting is more like a fire detection system. If you wait for the smoke detector to go off (stocks above their 10 week moving average & NYSE Hi/LO buy signal) you may miss a week or so off the bottom but will certainly catch most of the move up. If you wait for the sprinklers to go off (stocks above their 30 week moving average) you will also catch a good chunk of the move up.
