I'm going to pass on this buying opportunity. My asset allocation is about right and I don't have any new money to invest at this time.

Maybe I'll get the next one.

Best wishes,

I2

just bought SPY at 109

After having missed Jan's opportunity (if you're interested, my plight is well-documented in the archives of this thread), I'm with you here. Bad news, since when *I* finally step up to the plate, the ballgame's usually over!

Ken

I also bought in SPY at $109 as Bob Brinker recommanded. I placed orders for my son, my daughter and myself at $109. But I was quick enough only to change my daughter's order to $108 1/2. All were executed accordingly. I wanted to place it at 108 1/2 in the first place, but my husband thought 109 was good enough. Hopefully, we will all make out alright in the long run. Good luck to you also.

Re: "Anybody else stepping up to the plate? "

I pulled the trigger and bought into Schwab's s&p500 fund. I'll get the closing price.

Yes Bob, in SPY 107.5, also added to UTEK 19.875.

I had the limit order in since Sunday night and picked up SPY at 109 on the first dip of the day, until the final hour sell off SPY never went lower that 108. Closing at 107 it was a pretty good call by Bob (if it starts up again, that is).

Remember, Bob's calling for all time highs later this summer or this fall.

Bob,

I did the same thing. I waited until I saw the mkt rebound on the Dow just a bit and bot SPY at 109 3/16, but I was a little pissed at the end of the day when it closed at 107. Son of Gun!

Bob, I also bought SPY at 108 and 109 at Bob's recommendation. Bob has not been wrong yet and I'm betting money on it.

This sure seems like a long time ago, doesn't it? Are you adding on the way down? My current buy was at 99.5 on SPY. When you go back and read your post and all the replies to it you realize you're not alone in this down draft.

I gritted my teeth, closed my eyes, clicked on Submit Order and just bought SPY at 109.
Anybody else stepping up to the plate? Sure hope da Brink is right about new highs yet this year.

$97 and change now...wow! I kept the last of my S&P500 earmarked money dry then and it is still dry... Maybe after the holiday I will dump it in. Just a tiny amount...that was moved to Bonds a few months ago and it seems like a decade ago.

I have bought a creamated and spread on the water stock LRCX... with hope it is once again reborn. I sure hope UTEK doesn't head down to the same valuation levels as the Brinker Effect has kept it a teenager compared to some of the others stocks in the sector like Lam.

regards
Kirk

Bob,
this is looking a little better each day, I think it's going to pay off for you, for all of us. Think of the opportunities we've had to add to this position since 110(we still do).
Seems as if the market is doing okay even without the rate decrease, if it falters we'll get one. I heard Clinton was pushing for it and that may have worked against getting the decrease this time around. I believe Clintons public approval rating is directly tied to the DJIA(and he knows it).

good luck,
jim
