All very true, Bill. I'd like to add to the GDC profile you've painted that, along with Nortel, GDC was among the first vendors to incorporate the ATM Forum's Voice Telephony over ATM (VTOA) capabilities <mainly used by international carriers> that operates at the subrate (sub-DS0) levels. This, some perceive, is a threat to VoIP, since it is switched, it is low bit rate, and it is of a higher quality than IP voice. I happen to think that if it takes off, it will most likely integrate or become comingled with VoIP somewhere down the road. Frank C.
