Wally,
Today's market is just reaction to some analysts talking about bear market. It will take few days to find out what is truly happening. I have most of my portfolio in Internet stocks which I see as PC stocks 10 years ago (felt then this will be the future, but did not invest). Half of the money made on XCIT, SEEK, LCOS I moved to FNTN shortly after they peeked and the other half I'm still holding plus bought some last week (XCIT, SEEK, LCOS). My other small Internet stocks (about 20) are mostly down, have three winners.
Here is my strategy: 9 out of 10 are going to fail, so when I see the 1 out of 10, I put more money into it from other stocks and a cash account. If I hit 2-3 from 20, I'm on the target, so now it's just to sell what I can from the once that are not going to make it. Basically I do understand that only 1 out of 10 is going to make and when I spot a good one I move the funds into it. Doing the above I'm 50% on my portfolio for the last 4 weeks even if my portfolio list is mostly red.
