Major selloffs in the DOW and NASDAQ, and Dell is only down half a point. Looks pretty good to me. This beats the hell out of day-after-day 10 point drops in the NASDAQ. Bought more Aug calls yesterday and Sept calls this morning. Those bulls look like steers today.

venkie, re:WFMI
apparently gnc announced 40% price cuts in supplements, and the whole sector tanked on margin concerns...have not heard from whole foods yet...honestly I think it is a long term hold and a great one...their business model is outstanding and their financials are solid.

i would, however, like to see how much of their 25% margin depends on supplements, since I know that supplements are their highest margin products. Gut feel, I gotta believe the grocery business pulls in so much more revenue that the average margins won't be dragged down significantly by a reduction in supplement prices...and , BTW, the prices sure haven't dropped as of yet.

HOpe that helps. will let you know if i hear from whole foods directly.
