Soumen, Fund managers don't face the capital gains tax, outside of commissions -g-, the holders do, if they are a taxable entity.

Soumen, Yes, it also applies to fund portfolios. So, if the fund buys a stock and holds it 12 months and sells at a gain, it will distribute a long term capital gain to shareholders.
