John:

Also, I would suggest looking at ILNK as a very bizarre peer in this phone-reselling business.

Hey, don't leave SIRC out of that group. Knapsack maker turned CLEC and ISP. Alas, SIRC has been spanked recently and many probably can't short it. Worth putting it on the back burner though since it gets pumped and dumped regularly.

Funny to see CPTL pop up in here. In '96 I was long CPTL, rode it up for a quick double only so see the gains go poof. Prosperity for this outfit always seems to be just 'round the next corner.

Steve:

Have you given any thought to going the press release route on your "strong sell" recommendations? Seems to work pretty well for Asensio. Whatever you dig up on CPTL you should probably forward over to Herb at theStreet.com, he loves a good short story as much, if not more, than the next guy. Herb was kind enough to include some of my ramblings on EQMD in his column. I see EQMD actually traded today after taking a coupla day summer vacation.

Greetings John,

<<the AR is interesting ... it looks too big. Do you happen to know how much of it is related to the amounts they were trying to collect in lawsuits?>>

I would agree, and looked but could not find the answer. It could be either. If they still list the A/R under dispute it would seem unusual, and if it is not included in this A/R - this A/R looks fishy to me.

As for as info on the Conv Pref. - look in the May 15 8k

edgar-online.com

It has the terms. Note the terms allow lowering the price of conversion if any other stock offering is made...

Cheers Steve
