"It could be useful today if we knew it better, myself especially."

Hi Bod,
I agree. I have studied every book in the OT many times. I have prayed and mediated on every book in the OT many times. I continue to study the OT deligently because I consider it the Word of God. I consider both the NT and the OT as the Word of God. I have used the OT in ministry for almost thirty years. I have seen people get saved by reading the 53rd chapter of Isaiah and showing them in the NT that this was fulfilled in Jesus. I have been a fervent lover and defender of the OT word of God for almost thirty years.
This new theolgy of evangelization that Bob is talking about is not about knowing, loving or using the OT in evangelization, but rather the exclusion of the word of God in the New Testament. I question that theology vehhemently and consider it false.

I have never been accused, except by pagans, of focusing on the NT too much, but I have OFTEN been accused of using the OT too much. My love for the OT has been established in my heart since Aug. of l970. This is why I seldom respond to the slander and lies from the Markoffs. They and DLL are constantly trying slander my beliefs and witness by saying things like "Emile doesn't believe in the OT or Emile thinks the Old Testament is done away with." etc. etc.
Emile believes fully in the OT and the N and studies and preaches both diligently almost every day of his life. There are some things in the Old that are finished and obsolete but I still study them to understand God's mind. Examples would be the books of numbers and Leviticus and also the books of Chronicles and Kings. The biblical nation of Isaral and the temple were shadows and symbols to teach and bring us to Christ. They are fulfilled, but they still contain lessons about God's character and his dealings with men.

(I think we should all practice entering into the Spirit and the presence of God before we have these discussions. We would get much more from them in this way. It would bring a special anointing upon our understanding and our discussions.)

In the love of Christ

Emile
