If you see only 40 points further down on the SPX, which translates to another 320 points more or less on the Dow, why are you looking to mid 7000s on the Dow? 1030 on the SPX will bring us to about 8150-8200 on the Dow? Thanks.

Franco

1475 on the NAZ seems personally a bit low because that would bring the NAZ way down under it's 200DMA. At least the last 7 or so years most serious corrections stops a few %age points under the 200DMA which would be in the area around 1600. It's gonna be interesting to see what will develop.
The DOW seems to have good support in the in the 7900-8100 area for me. That seems a possibility for me. The 200DMA argument would also suggest a stop in that area for me but since i don't use magnets and can only guess.
We will see where this leads too.

The Market...

David:

Good analysis...

I'm looking for a bottom test of the Dow in the 7500 to 7700 area... This is the 89 day MA on the weekly chart...

David,

Are you sure you're not Ralph Accompura? 7400 is certainly a remote possibility to consider. The Dow and S&P 500 stocks became extremely overextended and as such an extreme reaction is not out of the question. At this juncture though, I have to direct everyone's attention to Harry S. Dent Jr. and his tome, "The Great Boom Ahead", again.
Damn but that guy is good.
