Tony,

Ralph A. just yesterday was Bullish and said he was expecting a Blue Chip Rally. He then canceled it after the Dow Droped over 100 pts. Now he is Bearish. In other words. He seems to be a momentum player. He did manage to exacerbate today's selling though.

Oh well, I think this latest selloff is healthy and it will set up the next big rally. JMO

From Briefing.com
Ralph Acampora says...: today's market woes seem to have started after Prudential Securities' technical analyst Ralph Acampora said that the Dow Jones average could experience 15-20% correction from recent record highs; he thinks that if the Dow closes below its June 1998 closing low of 8627.93, the Dow could drop as much as 20% from this year's high; a 15% decline would bring the Dow to 7937, while 20% drop would leave the index at 7470.....

Tony,>>> what do you think of Ralph Acampora's statement today? <<<

Ralph is a very engaging fellow - comes across very nicely over TV. However, if he was a management consultant, he would be the type that would borrow your watch and tell you what time it is. If he were a weatherman, he would look out the window and tell you if it was raining or not.

If he was a stock analyst, he would tell you that it is not a stock market but a market of stocks and that you would have to be very selective in your stock picking to make money.

He is a nice guy - and he has made a great living being a nice guy.

Regards,

Mary

Dear Tony,

Mr. A has been doing a lot of flipping lately--saying things on both ends of the bull/bear spectrum on consecutive days!

This time, he will have a 50:50 chance of being correct. However, in the past, I must say that he was more confident and consistent.
