Thanks for calling my attention to this -- I was wondering why the whole segment tanked today.

Vitamins are only a small part of WFMI sales (maybe 10% - you can check this on financials) but they do command higher margins than grocery items.

But GNC is only discounting certain items UP TO 40% Overall margins little changed. See:

In my opinion, this will have little impact on WFMI. They can match any price cut since they own the manufacturing on nutritional items (Amrion).

I don't see GNC as their competitor as much as Kroger and Albertsons. They will grow by drawing in more mainstream customers who would never go into a GNC.

Just my opinions.

I think that OATS could benefit from supplement cost reductions. I think that this is a larger part of their mix than WFMI's.
