The point was actually a reply to an earlier post which mentioned that BEAS and others should/would be downgraded based only upon MSFTphobia. I can not be sure about this, but if MSFT was really interested in Middleware and other areas, they probably would NOT re-invent the wheel. Instead they would strategically purchase those companies that provide the best fit in MSFT vision. I wouldn't be surprised to see some more acquisitions begin made in the near future. The bottom line is that every company should be running scared in order to perform well. But scare of MSFT, NO. Scare of not making targets yes. Yet at the same time, downgrading a software stock just because MSFT is software is nonsensical at least!
