My predictions are not based on anything solid - it is just a SWAG. I'm terrible with numbers. However, I agree with you the key is the server side.

The y2k problem will cause a lot of legacy systems to be move to IA servers. Unitwise IA servers are now more than 50%. When IA servers make up more than 50% of sales, in dollars, analysts will wake up to a whole new ball game. One that they don't know much about.

The consumer market will become insignificant to Intel performance but will continue to have some importance in a strategic sense.

If Intel can achieve 80% market share of Servers - that will be significant.
