Chambers made much the same cautionary statements last quarter about Asia. The new item this quarter is that Asia will not be a major player in CSCO's revenue strategy for the next few years. Implies that CSCO expects to sustain its revenue growth even with the Asian uncertainty. The market will understand this when the dust settles.

Hi R,
I think that you will find that Chambers has consistently put cautionary comments in earnings reports and I doubt that one more person saying that Asia is in trouble is going to have much affect on the market, even if it is Chambers.

The only thing that I have entertained doing with my CSCO position in light of the market action is to buy protective puts, however due to technical difficulties, I won't be doing this.

Otherwise, the market vagaries may affect how I trade other stocks, but I ignore them when it comes to CSCO.

I do think that the announcement of the 3:2 stock split, .01 over estimate earnings and 31% growth will be interpreted positively by the market.
