Again this just shows me how closely the worlds economies are tied to oil prices. Not that the current problems in the far east are the result of low oil prices but that the lack of cash that these countries will generate because of low oil prices is going to significantly hurt the US oil industry and our weakening economy.
The hope here seems to be that by keeping more money in the hands of the American consumer, low gasoline prices, that maybe we can spend our way out of the upcoming problems. These low prices are fabricated to help the world economy.
This will be a real test of the baby boomer mentality that has kept this market so healthy for so long. Do we look at this market and keep buying since there are so many bargains out there or do we duck for cover like the institutions.
Personally I find it hard to overlook all of the bargians in this sector and look forward to some upcoming opportunities.
