<Click on "Profile" and you'll see the earnings for the last 4 quarters that give a trailing p/e of ~ 54. If you calc it differently, I'd like to know how you're figuring it. Apologies if the instructions are too elementary.>

Thanks for the info Tim, it has cleared up the confusion. No need to apologize since I have learned from your guidance. It appears that the LU site is using 1.84 in it's PE calculation. This excludes all one time charges. DLJ, and the Dreyfus quote systems calculate earnings to be at 35 and 33 cents respectively for the trailing 12 months. Another site uses 84 cents. I believe they include all the one time charges and report accordingly. Depending on what you believe, you can come up with a PE of 54 or as high as 263. I choose to use the in between number.

One must compare apples to apples and if so LU must come to a PE of 60 including one time charges. Check out MSFT which is trading at a 60 PE on it's bottom line. LU at the moment is not doing so. Agree?

Caroline, apology accepted.

Laura, thanks and I did not take it as disrespect.
