Can't believe LSI went below 20.
I'm getting a little sick of this market and the hucksters on TV jumping from wild claims of 10,000 plus Dow to predicting 20% down bear market in one day. First it was Biggs fanning the flames and today Acampora on CNBC. Totally irresponsible.
I have news for all of them Tech stocks that aren't Intc or Dell have been in a bear market since October. This is not new news. You can run a whole list of stocks down way over 50% from their 52 week highs. Start with LSI, VLSI, CS, WDC, CRUS, CUBE, CY, QNTM, SEG, PAIR, AMAT, KLIC, LRCX, the list goes on etc. All good companies trashed. While the new nifty fifty rolled obliviously on!?
And to add insult to injury the perennial money loser MU is over 32.

But strangely enough nobody wants LSI. I do. And I feel better about it after venting some.

I would say sentiment has changed a smidge also aka Ralphy baby who was totally wrong the last time he flip flopped.

Anyone have the bullish vs. bearish numbers a/o put/call ratios after today?

Heard one radio program predicting a 1 to 2 hour period of selloff followed by a rally. Sure is nice to know these things ahead.

I'll bet TSO/dlo closed out all his positions at 9337.73 while I sat here like a bump on microprosseser chip .

With the volume on the NAZ I'd say we had a climatic selloff but the breath wasn't quite bad enough. Maybe the AM will do it. I also think we will get a "dead cat bounce" that should be tradeable

Where is Abby Cohen and Joe Batapaglia when we need them??

Boy E. takes a vacation and so does the market. I thought Rukeyser was influtial but he is powerless compared to E.!!!

o~~~O

My thanks for your comprehensive response.

This, however, I will cheerfully overlook (having suffered through it):

For the average stock, '73-'74 was worse than '87
and was chineese water torture. Almost everything fell to the $5-$10
range. Let us hope we get our rally.

Come to think of it, though, maybe that $5-$10 inflation-adjusted to '98 wouldn't look all that bad...naw, let's not even go there!

Regards,
Wolf (aching far too much from laboring--replaced dock, built new toolshed etc.-- at my lakefront cottage to tackle the door to yours ;-)
