Loved your comments, especially about the bald main tire.....been there, done that myself (g)

I remember travelling out to L.A. many years ago to meet up with some truly brilliant ex telephone engineers who claimed that they could pull a signal out of the noise a mile out on a twisted pair local loop. My response initially was that they were a pack of bald-faced fibbers, but their confidence was infectious, so I made the trip. They performed as advertised and blew me away (at the time, it ranked as defying the laws of physics). Their company didn't make it (I invested, which was probably the kiss of death), but their ideas were scooped by the early GPS boys and used to great advantage.

IMHO, Trimble could have owned this market, but made the mistake in the early days of not concerning itself with the display side of the equation. This left the door wide open for those who integrated good display capability. Lowrance really did a job on the market last summer with their new aviation package. The display is excellent, the detailed and integrated airport facility/road/topography mapping is triple "A" and it really grabs the signals in bulldog fashion. I don't blame you for your enthusiasm.
Haven't checked out their financial poop as I've been buried in some other GPS-related stuff. Will be having a look in the near term.
Best, Earlie
