An alternative technical view would be:

QCOM tested the $57 mark in May, June, and July (earnings jumped from there) so it appears as if this is a good support level. The gap you mentioned was filled today, but appeared to test $57 again, only to pop back up. So unless the market melts down again (futures currently coming back up) this morning, we should rally a bit short term here and provide a trading opportunity.

I sure as hell hope so anyway since I bought some 2001 leaps at the close today.
