John:
Much to my chagrin the Street must be placing close to zero probability that LSI will reach EPS of $ 1.50 in 1999. The stock seems so undervalued here I feel that everyone in the world realizes
that $ 1.50 is impossible and here I sit with a long term position
in LSI waiting for the earnings to explode. It is interesting reading
the VLSI thread where there is an active discussion regarding the
rumor that LSI was about to buy VLSI some weeks ago. If LSI was close
to buying VLSI and subsequently purchased Symbios the folks at LSI
have been busy looking at possible acquisitions. Does this interest
in acquisitions suggest that LSI's original business model was
flawed and that the growth originally envisioned with the existing
product lines will not come to fruition. Finally, if management
continues to be optimistic about the the future isn't to time to announce a new stock buyback program ?
