JR:

It was heartening to see Select Telecom and Select Retail come back so strongly today as I did hold off moving out of these two especially
Monday when I swept the floor some. Utilities growth I held too.
However, I will wait before jumping back into most general funds which hold big cyclical positions or any small cap groups.
We did buy one individual stock the other day when it dropped with the total market - FDO at 16 5/8. It went up over 18 today. I have been "watching" that discount chain retailer for a while since it began to rise and doubled this last year and then the Motley Fools came out with a very positive spin recently.
I think Select Telecom is a good safe candidate if the market stabilizes near term.
Treasuries and bond funds are a haven for one like myself in retirement if the going gets choppy. We agree.
