I'm not going to attempt to address your long post point by point, but a few things do stand out.

First of all, the old "Macs are too expensive" argument (phrased somewhat differently by you) doesn't really wash when you consider price vs performance and total cost of ownership as factors in evaluating the value of a system.

Second, the old "there's no software" issue is also mostly bogus. True, there's a larger selection for WINTEL and, yes, some specialized software is simply unavailable for the Mac, but, by and large most of the commonly used applications are available for both types of platforms.
