That's an interesting point. I recall reading a few weeks back an opinion that in a strong market you tend to have softness in the morning with closing strength in the afternoon. This market has it backwards.

I awoke with some thought that the S&P would drop below 1000. I don't what brought that on. Same gut feel as you, I guess. So perhaps we are both early but once I'm back I intend to start picking up some tech stocks primarily. I used to keep some oils in there but the overall comparative returns were so dismal. I mean, over a 10 or so year period of time. Perhaps I'm too close to it and I should step back for a better perspective. I'm not talking from technical strength or fundamental. Just weariness with the sector. The XOI, by the way, has been on a slide for weeks. What is that all about? I normally don't watch closely except for correlation reasons with the S&Ps.
