Nathan50.... I'm curious.... are there two nathans?
One is well educated, fairly savvy about investments, and looking to challenge the folks on this thread...... The other is a 'front' /pseudo person.... acting as if he doesn't really know very much about investing, or the english language.

Nathan, I agree with the sentiment of your response, but I have to admit that this observation has merit.

As to the stock price, well, the stock market is made of people, the price is decided by the investors when the last trade was done.

Regards (I mean it),

Caroline

Arrogance does not make a fool smarter, even he is trying to pretend that way. From your post, I can understand that you have lost your temper, however, you are still putting your head in the sands and do not like to learn and dig the facts. You may try every mean to insult me on this thread in public, well, what can you say with a kid or an old guy of no brain, so, please continue.
You better review your own post on #3519, "Over a billion people combined in the two countries, ....... In my opinion, they already have all the phones they will need for the next few years " , well , your number did not make logics. Again, you offered some data about the population of India and China later on this thread to prove that you are knowledgeable and not talking nonsense on this thread, well , this again prove that you did not go to details , just like the way you calculate PE, and compare computer business of IBM with telecommunication business of LU, it is just make things funny. Next time, I suggest you to put such post on this thread, i.e " With more
than $two dollar of total CAP in the US market , it will really push the DOW well
over 10 in the next five years " , or "With the average incom of well over $3 per US
family, it is very hard for the average family to afford a house of well below $500000" All those writings are just nonsense, like what you posted in #3519.

Finally, let me teach you another thing about PE. Earning is to judge the profit companies can made out of its products, it is a judgement of the market, the potential of its products, and the capability of its managers. So, earning is a result of multi factors. Earning is the result of operation, and the success of operation is a result of many factors, which include the vision of managers, the R&D, the marketing, the manufacturing , and should not be deducted from the charge of acquisition, because the acquisition will also end up with part of company's asset and future potential.
As to the PE, it has noting to do with the company's earning power. A company with a PE of 10 does not necessary mean it has more earning power than a company with PE of 60.A company may have a working capital of $1 Billion but make a profit of $1 million, and with a PE of 10, this does not indicat that A company, with a PE of 10 has more earning power than Intel or higher potential of future growth. In the investment society, people are talking about return, i.e profit margin, and how fast you can grow
your business and profit, the ratio , i.e the PE, does not have any meaning at all. So,
pls do not try to fool the investors on this thread with your shallow mind.

You are naive to predict the future of the stock price , which is a dynamic model. I won't argue with you about the future price , and it is just wasting my time to argue .If you really like to argue that like a kid, ok! ok! I agree with you LU will drop to $50 , like IBM,NSCP, AMAT, ....etc. But the question is WHEN ? It can be 20 years later from today, when market for LU's products is saturated, then , so what ?

Again, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING but WITH ARROGANCE, pls do not post on this thread or read this thread, because you will never learn anything with
you mind and ears closed.
