On CNBC this morning, the CEO of Lycos said that the company bought an internet directory service for $4 million. They also received a patent on their WiseWire interactive filtering technology that can be an advantage in open-internet type Web Shop Bot search engines in addition to enabling more intelligent and useful information searches. I'm not advocating anything about Lycos - just using it as a reference for analysis of Ambazombies recent actions.

In contrast to the $4 mil investment by Lycos, Amazongonenuts.con has spent $170 odd million in shareholders money (maybe Bezos and company don't think the stock is worth this high a price?) for a similar category of company. Lycos got 1 million subscribers in the deal v. Amazon's 1.5 million subscribers at PlanetAll.com. Possibly Lycos' CEO mentioned this minor acquisition as a way of saying "Hey you Ambazombie idiot speculators, you are valuing a company that is throwing huge piles of your money into the hands of VCs for something that we can get or build cheaply! Come take a look at us and make us your teflon don inet darling."
