I don't think we are seeing a rally.

I just ran the Point of Balance Osc. on the Index Trusts, SPY and DIA. (I didn't use the actual DJIA or SP500 numbers as I already had these in real time and was simpler to calculate) In order for it to just be a neutral sentiment, the SPY would have to hit a Point of Balance of 110, and the DIA would need 86.67. That doesn't sound terribly unreachable, but in order to get those POB number, the High today would have to be 114.5 (SPY - presently 107) and 90.375 (DIA - presently 86).

Not likely.

Out of BVSN 21 3/4.. my first trade today whew!! From watch list looking good smaller ones: ROMC, MECK, USAD, TJX.. I'm not putting big money into trades but rather looking into smaller companies as I mentioned previously. For companies like DELL, MSFT, LU i'll do options because they are in a fast market. If LU hits 90 I'll probably scalp a profit unless the market is clearly in a rally at least for a few more hours.

Like yourself I have been doing short-term (almost day) trading of options and that too only going long with calls as I don't like doing puts or selling naked calls. Took a lot of risk and bought 8 Aug 95 CSCO calls around 11:30 @ 3 and sold before close @ 4 3/4. Similarly day traded CCI Aug 160 calls twice today scalping about 1 1/4 points on 14 contracts. In 3 trading days so far in august my day-trading profits run to around $6200 after commissions and this is the best run I've had so far in a long time.

I missed out on both DELL and AOL today (got scared I guess).

e-mail: AATT..TKLC...CPWR

TIP: I've mentioned this numerous times. Whenever a company beats the street soundly like ERTS, TKLC, CPWR, AATT did, you can bet that when the market recovers or has a pretty good session, these will be the first to rise. For subscribers and SI tonight I'll compile a list of the better 'street beaters' this quarter and post it on the website in the archives section.

CONCORD, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1998--Aavid Thermal Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AATT), today announced second quarter 1998 sales of $54.3 million, an increase of 46 percent over second quarter 1997 sales of $37.1 million.

07/28 18:00 TEKELEC INC [TKLC] reports 0.14 EPS for Quarter, 40.00% above Zacks Consensus Estimate

COMPUWARE CORP [CPWR] reports 0.30 EPS for Quarter, 25.00% above Zacks Consensus Estimate
