Lawsuits tend to take at least several months. Each is different and can be settled at anytime - especially in the civil arena. I wanted to comment on the "quash" issue. I am currently involved in an insurance litigation project on behalf of an oil corporation and can tell you from experience that these motions are standard lawyer pleadings and are normally refused. You will hear things like "motion to dismiss" on some grounds - refused, Motion to this and that - refused. Also, countersuits appear to be a standard coarse of action to deflect the charges. I would not be surprised to see one ultimately here as well. IMO, these are all standard lawyer tactics and should not be paid much mind. After depositions, things will likely heat up on the settlement table.

Just my experience,

Eric
