Excellent point, glad somebody mentioned the pre-inflation indexed SS/Fica rates. They were absolutely tiny in proportion to the payout. I think some of the anti-entitlement groups should publicize this information and bring it up constantly as "the issue" regarding SS - fairness, that is. And I am all for means testing with regard to Medicare. I know plenty of people under 40 that can't get decent coverage - I want the same benefits the elderly get, since I am paying for them. Michelle
