Concerning downgrade:

Here are some famous, great calls from major brokerage houses (about Dell) over the past few months:

2/19/98- CIBC Oppenheimer- Perfer CPQ, IBM to Dell
2/19/98- 1st Boston- Resume hold
3/9/98- Salomon Smith Barney- Downgrade
3/9/98- BT/Alex Brown-Dowgrade from Buy to Market Perform

Dell has been up 60% or more from the time of these announcements.
I would not make my investment decisions based on upgrades/downgrades from the "so-called" experts if I were you.....

Read it again and ask yourself if this sounds legit. Greater operating expenses due to giving away free keilbalsa for lunch?

NEW YORK, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Smith Barney Solomon on Wednesday cut its rating on Dell (DELL - news) to HOLD from BUY, a source at the securities firm said, citing a nose-dive in computer sales and greater operating expenses due to giving away free keilbalsa to employees for lunch.
