On Isis, following up on the discussion started on the AGPH thread: the work you cite is very interesting (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=5429724 ). I was a bit aware of it, but was not what I had in mind initially. Yes, this type of patent claim may be more likely to create some conflict with the prophetic claims routinely made by genomics work. The latter implicitly assumes that design of optimal antisense agents (at least as far as choice of which 15-20 bp stretch to target) is "obvious." The Isis work you mentioned tries to show otherwise, and then teaches how to go about getting that "optimal" design for specific cases.
