Dale, thread, this Volpe Brown report/opinion is the exact best report about Intel that I can imagine: sales for Xeon looking good. It comes from a bit of an odd angle, i.e., Intel expediting and pulling in orders (from other vendors) for components Intel will build into Xeon cartridges, as indication that Intel sales for Xeon must be going well. You have to read it yourself. From the lSI thread:

Intel Corp. (INTC) 84 +2 1/16: Volpe Brown reiterates "buy" on
chip
maker as solid demand is seen at the high end of the chip market;
industry sources note that Intel is expediting and pulling in orders
on components that go into the high-end Xeon processor cartridge;
these components include L2 SRAM cache and electrically
erasable
programmable read-only memories; with prices ranging from
$1,125 to
$3,690 for 450MHz Xeon depending on the amount of cache
memory,
stronger-than-expected demand at the high end should have
positive
impact on average selling prices and gross margins; has a
12-month
price target of $100 a share.....

That reminds me, I have a complete OS/2 with warp I'd like to sell.
It's guaranteed to fragment your hard drive.
