Ref:Price cut

PAT:

Allow me to make 2 points.

1.
DELL's price cut is for PCs with Intel MMX chips and not the high end enterprise products.

2.

and the most important point of all and I quote DELL

"''The price cuts are due to a combination of component cost reductions and efficiencies of Dell's build-to-customer-order structure. Our direct business model allows us to pass these kind of savings on to customers very quickly,'' said Joe Marengi, senior vice president, Dell Relationship Group."

Patrick, yes, I fully understand what Dell is doing. However, going after the consumer market, won't that force them to compete in the sub $1000 pc arena?
