Re: sell program

Maybe this is the last major fear before we move up, I hope.

** OT **

L3, I suggest you carefully reread my post. I don't care about adulterers. Every president I can think of has lied. As far as being a crook (which I gather is what you are suggesting Clinton is), there is not one scintilla of credible evidence that he is. We remove presidents for "high crimes and misdemeanors". Those are crimes committed by virtue of holding the office. You and I cannot commit a high crime or misdemeanor.

Nixon as much as admitted that he was a crook when he ran for Vice President with Eisenhower. As a result, Ike was considering dropping him from the ticket. That was the point behind the "Checkers" speech. But once elected, nobody suggested that Nixon be removed from office for that behavior (which was also a violation of campaign contribution laws). Nixon was forced from office for committing a series of high crimes and misdemeanors, which included among other things, using government employes to attempt to subvert an election and using illegal means to stifle political dissent with the federal government, and then to use the power of the presidency to illegally obstruct investigations of those acts.
