Emile,

My heart rejoices when hearing your statement;

"Just a few words to let you know that I am meditating and praying on my answer."

On this thread, we should all be doing this when we speak of the scriptures. Checking with God to verify our responses with him!

I find, in my own experiences, when responses are rushed, they might not be as clear or communicate exactly what you want. In addition, when I have not consulted the Lord for the proper answer, the one he would be pleased with, my answers are sometimes foolish. Sometimes I answer in prideful ways, which does not reflect the proper love for others the Lord dictates us to do. I am guilty of being prideful, as my brother Bob! I apologize to all for this!

With that said, I am very pleased that you are taking this issue to the Lord, and taking the proper time that is needed to answer! I must do the same as well when I am confronted with questions! We all should!

Emile, this goes without saying, but I am enjoying our study and look forward to the continuation of it, when you are fully ready!

Enjoy your time with the Lord, as I do, when in his presence!

God Bless You,
Steve

Emile,
<< . A mere intellectual approach to the Word produces error and death.>>
This gives me an understanding of where you are coming from. I understand that there is grace in our errors and not death. Jesus used truth with grace, grace is everywhere especially for those that do not know Him yet. His patience is endless compared to ours. If we are fearfull of getting death for errors we will condemn everyone at some point for all have fallen short of the glory of God and deserve death, but He desires for all to have everlasting life and will see it through for each person that will be saved. I trust His healing and saving power and believe praying for people I think might be in error is the best approach. One thing I also do in His presence is ask Him to show me my errors as well. If we go to Him to show others how right we are then we are the Pharisee in the parable that thanked God for not making him like those sinners. I have found the fullness of joy in His presence that has sustained me from some very difficult situations and encourage everyone to seek His presence.
One other thing I don't think it was only a hope in the OT I see that they knew Him and loved Him as we do and hoped for His coming as we hope for His return for us as He sealed us with His Holy Spirit for evidence of that promise.
I am not discrediting the New Testament for I cherish every word my Master spoke and the direction of the Church. It is my understanding that many desire to see a very large part of Gods Word as dead. I am defending Gods Word and character not bringing it down. But Emile if I am in error I trust totally in His Mercy that endures forever to cover me and that brings me into His presence and joy.
With the Love of Jesus,
Nancy

Emile,

I wanted you to know I am still praying for you, and I, and the thread as well, about the study of the book of Hebrews that we are partaking in, even though we have have a pause in our discussion.

I know you said in this post, exchange2000.com, you needed to pray and meditate to answer my question about the way of salvation in regard to the Old And New Testament. My contention was that you were saved exactly the same way in the Old and New Testament. (see post: exchange2000.com

I just wanted to let you know, that as much time as it takes, and as much prayer as it takes, I am with you as a brother in Christ. And I hope we will bring our study to a fruitful and prosperous conclusion that would please our Lord.

God Bless You,
Steve
