Incremental info on China

The network in question was apparently NOT being deployed by Hutchison, but through a separate, private venture led by Hutchison's chairman in a partnership with Unicom (China's second major network operator). The network was NOT canceled due to technology issues, but due to the loss of the venture's money partner. Given the economic and financial turmoil in the region, such should not be particularly surprising. The Hutchison CDMA deployment is continuing on schedule.

It just goes to show you how the media can mischaracterize, distort or get plain blow the fact basis of a story.

Best regards,

Gregg
