Yes, but down side was still much more than upside. True, a rally may be at hand but I'll be surprised if it's a big rally. Even if it is, it will be in a very narrow range of stocks, as usual. I suppose if I were to be long on that basis, then DELL would be as good as any. However, seemingly untouchable stocks like DELL will be the last to roll and I wouldn't want to be long at the peak when they do. Better to be short overpriced stocks. In that spirit, I took the end of day rally opportunity to short more ATHM and PIXR. Certain stocks will not recover much if there is a rally and I'm betting these will go lower by the end of the month. APEX looks weak but possibly in line for a rally for a pt or two. I also increased my ADTN short today. If I trade to the long side from here on out, it will only be with large cap NYSE stocks for day trades only. I hate day trading but at least with the NYSE the flow is relatively predictable if you gauge your trades relative to the DOW. Seems to be the way to go now. until the direction over all is determined one way or the other.
