can anybody explain to me how IBM can sustain such a big business? they lost market shares to the clones, to microsoft, etc. and yet they are still such a big company? it seems that they make everything, but in every field they have competitors. are they making most of their revenues on mainframe computers? in the pc market there are dell, compaq, gw2000, etc. there are companies making workstations, software, networking devices.. which are all in their list of products and services. i can understand why microsoft is such a big business, but why IBM?
