The last two program trades of the day, a sell then a buy, were also the largest of the day. It seems that all they served to do was to take out stops as well as short term TA indicators in both directions.

Much has been printed on these threads about trading with your gut and I agree. My gut tells me that there is a concerted effort by the few truly powerful players in this market to do the most to confound the greatest number of traders. Those who control market movement understand that day traders, at least those who wish to survive, cannot afford the luxury of either bullishness or bearishness on a short term basis, irrespective of their basic tendencies. It's no secret that nimbleness equals survival. The extreme whipsaw price action in the last hour today was fast enough and violent enough to confound even those who play both sides of the market. It has little to do with natural market action. It is primarily the result of billions of dollars being moved quickly by those few who mask the true direction of the market by manipulating the short term trading tools that so many of us use. What to do? Block out the noise and go with your gut. It's probably astute enough to get you through.

Please pardon my stream of consciousness. Now I know how Robert Graham feels. BWDIK.

Best of luck and regards to all.

Franco
