John, don't mean to be so disagreeable (ggg), but this bill has minimal support within the business community. There is a key industry meeting tomorrow afternoon at the National Manufacturers Association in D.C. It will include representatives from IT, telecom, banking, software manufacturers, the insurance industry, the semiconductor industry, and so on. NAM has worked with Congressman Dreier of California to craft an alternative to the White House bill that will do much, much more in the way of motivating businesses to share information regarding their Y2K readiness, etc. If successful, we will leave NAM united behind one piece of legislation, with a commitment from the House leadership to move the bill shortly after the August recess. Stay tuned...
