These folks are well intentioned and probably see themselves as acting in the public interest. Unfortunately, they are trying to control something they cannot. Years from now, the alliance of govt and private interest to bailout stocks, bonds, S&L's, banks, bank depositers, pension recipients, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea, Mexico .... will be viewed as a failure, having pushed the problem into an even more desperate future.
