The "vendors of the assets" intend to profit from appreciation
of the stock when Mountain Energy, Inc. harvests those assets.
The concept is similar to a farmer selling cattle. The mark-up
for the steaks, once in the butcher's shop, far exceeds the
value on hoof.
Simple, isn't it?

Simple, isn't it? No it's not that simple. Does not work this way. That's the trouble.
You simply do not take 50 million x .80 for $40 million in assets.
There are so many other factors here.
What the company feels share value should be placed at, also where they feel share price to be at time of actually starting to getting
the oil/gas/coal. Also where they (MTEI and the "vendors") agree share price will be based on other acquisitions by MTEI within 12 months for example. Also an agreement to not release any shares back into the float up to date specified.

50,000,000 - I wonder were they went?

If I have a yacht my grandfather John sold me for $200 is it worth $200?
No, may be worth $1 or $1,000,000.00. To my grandfather John it was worth $200 because he is to old, needed the money, OR he simply had a devious plan to hit me in back of the head with a shovel when we went for a test cruise and throws me overboard, claimed I was hit be another boat and collect the accidental life insurance he had on me for $2,000,000.00

poor but effective example

(please understand "grandfather John" is a fictional character)
