<The truth of the matter is that on 01/01/2000, the extortionists in D.C. will no longer be able to use y2k as a springboard for their own agendas, namely PR and graft.>

<And why would I listen to anyone on capitol hill to gain insight into what is a technical problem? My child knows more about computer software and hardware than Bennett.>

OK. I get the picture. You don't like politicans.

What's you're take on what these guys from GM and Honeywell are saying about "Year 2000" problems in manufacturing and process control?

Do you or your child understand equipment on plant floors better than they do? Think they have a reason to be concerned? Or, do you think they're over-reacting?

Ralph J. Szygenda, chief information officer at General Motors, whose staff is now feverishly correcting what he calls "catastrophic problems" in every GM plant.

Or consider the words of Rob Baxter, Honeywell's vice president in charge of making his company's line of industrial control products "year 2000 compliant," to use computer industry jargon. From what he has seen among Honeywell customers, Baxter fears that "some plants will have trouble operating and will have to shut down. Some will run at a reduced scope. I expect considerable system outages during December 1999 through February 2000."

What do TAVA & GM have in common?

Besides the fact that GM is a TAVA client.
