Raving at Tero in the Nokia zone who is saying the Italian Ericsson demonstration is a network. Ramsey Su, mentioned here for no good reason.

Also, a spot of rant on Frezza's Forum. Defunct, but couldn't resist it.

Question Re - Adaptive Array Antenna for GSM.

Does anyone know what sort of work Qualcomm is doing on the equivalent for CDMAOne. It is likely that it will add substantial capacity to GSM, but it is probably substantially harder to do for a spread spectrum system.

Clark

PS It is possible that CDMAOne gets enough advantage out of sectored cells to largely offset this, but I'm curious if anyone actually knows what Qualcomm's plans are in this regard.

To all you electrical engineer types - is this directional antenna thing an elaborate joke you are trying to pull on all of us normal -- I mean -- non-electrical engineer people?

You're saying a little mini-beam tracks us walking or driving around with our particular handset? This sounds like something in a Dr. Seuss book.

I am not trying to be silly. How is this going to work with several hundred thousand wireless subscribers?

Jon.
