This argument has been postulated in many different business areas. It holds little credence. It's like saying that there is no barrier to the hamburger restaurant business. Anyone with enough money will be able to open up a couple of burger joints but it does not mean that you will measure up to McDonalds or ever garner the market share that an entrenched competitor has. Of course, you can die trying and throw a lot of money around but it doesn't mean you'll get anywhere when you're late to the party.

The correct argument is the quality of the management. The ability to recognize the next paradigm before the rest of the crowd. Investing in the right companies. This is what sets CMGI apart from the rest.

Do we then agree that cmg has created barrier to entry?
