Resolution, form factor, and power consumption.........

Game, set, and match TFS.

There are probably some people close behind on the backplane.....but no one will have the optics/form factor. This product is real trouble for Kopin. They just don't have the optics right, and its too late to get them right.

Standby time and talk time are selling points in the handset market. The display is one of the biggest power drains.

This is a very important product, and one I did not expect this soon. It will display a full internet page, which common sense says is the minimum acceptable resolution. 1/4 VGA microdisplays (requiring scrolling) have been tried in consumer products, and simply did not sell.....were abandoned, ultimately.

I repeat, for the lurkers, this is a REAL important product. Won't see revenues probably until Q2 1999, at the earliest, but this product is real good technically, is first to market, and could easily dominate the microdisplay virtual-view market for handheld devices.

Look, the whole thing depends on bandwidth available to the device....data transmission speeds thru the air. 9,600 Baud won't cut it. The satellites will be there for this, about the same time this device can be designed in and produced.....starting at the high end devices. We might get a Nokia contract yet.....in the strangest way. <GGG> mcd

(Look at the company......not the stock.)
