CISCO products are inferior. It is marketing, incumbency and stalling which makes them successful.
Gee, chitchat, sounds like the same story I have been hearing for years about Microsoft. Remember "Beta" vs "VHS"? Your whining won't change the winner.

Mainstream users of products are not very interested in technology. They are pragmatists primarily interested in integrated solutions to their problems. Cisco gives them what they want, which is proven products that work well with each other. If you are interested, there is a book "Crossing the Chasm" that describes this process. The author, Goeffrey A. Moore is one of the authors of "The Gorilla Game". IMHO, any investor who hasn't read both is missing something he needs to know..

Spoken like a true technoid that cannot separate technical holy wars from investment strategy. Remember that just a few years ago CSCO was a startup facing the likes of Synoptics, 3-Com, etc. CSCO's success was not built on incumbency and stalling. It was built on brilliant technology which anticipated what the market really wanted as opposed to what the incumbents were offering.

It is my money and CSCO is making it for me.
